Join the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and help to preserve a piece of America's heritage, and know the honor and fulfillment of sharing in that legacy. All members received our quarterly publication, C&TS Dispatch, invitations to special events, the privilege of participating in the work sessions each summer, and the satisfaction of investing in America's historic and cultural heritage.

Another Century of Narrow Gauge Steam II Campaign

The ACNGS II campaign, launched on May 25, 2007, seeks to raise $2 million over five yeras. Building on the success of the first ACNGS campaign, this fundraising program will allow us to take the next steps to restore and preserve the unique historic assets of the C&TS. The priorities for this new effort come directly from the Friends strategic plan, and 100% of the Board of Directors have already made pledges. To strengthen our endeavor we will reach out to corporations, foundations and appropriate government entities. And, as in the past, we will also focus on the generosity of our membership. For more information, visit the ACNGS II campaign web page.

Richard L. Dorman Collection of Narrow Gauge Images

The collection is devoted to the narrow gauge railroads of Colorado and New Mexico, comprising some 20,000 black and white images and 6,000 color slides. This acquisition places the Friends' library and archive among the most important such institutions in the country, if not the world. The Board of Directors mandated that funds needed for accession, storage, scanning, and publication of guides and catalogs must not impose a burden on regular operating monies. In short, we must raise money for those activities. We envision funds coming from those members who might not be as active in the restoration work in Chama and Antonito.
