Middle Row Standing (l to r): Mary Whelan, Genne Reib, Mary Gonzales, Bob Reib, Ed Lowrance, Noreen Breeding, Ron Lira, and Spero Bettalico. Front Row Kneeling (l to r): Nan Clark, Mary Jane Smith, Marty Gonzales, Jeb the dog, Roger Breeding, David Ley, Alan Robson, Druby Hebert, and Bob McCain.
Ted Smith concentrates on holding the rule straight and still as John Sutkus takes a reading to determine the height of the base. Numerous sightings were taken to determine the amount of concrete needed to fill the two areas in the Antonito CRF.
Chris Trunk (left) holds up the end of the rebar as Marty Gonzales puts the bend on it. Hundreds of feet of rebar with dozens of bends was needed for the three outside areas to be concreted at the CRF.
Bob McCain breaks it up with a pick as Chris Trunk tries to get the rebar to the correct height. Behind them, Marty Gonzales moves dirt out from under the rebar. On the right, John Sutkus checks the progress, and in the background (l to r) Tim Smith watches as Ted Smith walks away and Bob Reib, Steve Fowler, Ron Lira and Bill Strathearn carry out lumber.
(l to r) Marty Gonzales levels a form board as Bob McCain steadies the other end. Chris Trunk hurries to try to assist. In the background, Ed Lowrance wedges rocks under the rebar to give the soon to come concrete room to get under it and John Sutkus moves outside to another project at the CRF.
Bob McCain pounds in a form stake for the north track as Marty Gonzales watches the alignment. In the background (l to r), Chris Trunk scurries over the track as Ed Lowrance and Ted Smith converse and Spero Betallico works on the form board on the southern track.
Ted Smith pours stone ballast behind the concrete form board as Spero Betallico pounds in the stakes holding up the form boards. They are working at the west end of the south track in the CRF building.
View of the east door of the CRF. Protective posts and form boards are set in place but need alignment and rebar.

Alan Robson holds the end of a form board as Bob McCain digs out a high spot in order to get the board level. This is the entry door at the southwest corner of the CRF building.
Bob McCain (left) holds one end of the form board in place as Alan Robson lines up the other end. Marty Gonzales starts clearing the tools in preparation for setting the rebar.
Russ Hanscom braces the bottom of the form which will eventually be the base for the light pole that will illuminate the area west of the CRF.

A large pile of rebar must be moved and the Kubota is the perfect candidate. (l to r) Bob McCain, Russ Hanscom, Alan Robson, Ed Lowrance and Chris Trunk watch as Marty Gonzales connects the chain that everyone hopes will be strong enough to move the large bundle of rebar. If the tractor or the chain doesn't work, the rebar will have to be muscled, two bars at a time, to another location.
A sidewalk will be poured on the west side of the CRF, on the north side of the northern track. (l to r) Alan Robson, Druby Hebert, Chris Trunk, Bob McCain and Marty Gonzales work at setting the form boards at the correct distance and level in the hard, rocky earth.
(l to r) Ed Lowrance and Druby Hebert look on as Marty Gonzales, Alan Robson and Bob McCain dig out dirt and rocks in order to level the form board for the sidewalk. John Sutkus looks on and waits to check the level of the board.
(l to r) Ed Lowrance works the tape as John Sutkus makes his reading in order to determine the height of the top of the form board. Alan Robson waits to see if any more earth needs to be replaced or removed from the form.

Overall view of the southern end of the CRF showing all of the rebar in place, the concrete forms in place, and the center screed bars in place and being levelled by (l to r) Spero Bettalico, Don Bayer and John Sutkus.
(l to r) Spero Betallico readies the tape for the screed clips, Don Bayer keeps the end of the level board down on the concrete footing, and John Sutkus adjusts the clip for a perfect level.
