Track construction into the Antonito Car Repair Facility is underway.

Les Clark, John Sutkus and Tim Bristow move a rail to the proper alignment for spiking. In the background, Marty Gonzales (on his knees) drills holes in the foundation to anchor the rebar.
John Sutkus and Don Bayer drive spikes as Russ Hanscom and Ed Lowrance brace the tie. Ray Diffee on the left and Les Clark on the right keep a close eye on the alignment.
Les Clark (below left) watches as Don Bayer drives a spike. Ed Lowrance leans hard on the bar bracing the tie as Russ Hanscom stands ready with more bracing if necessary. The crew is finishing the southern set of tracks in the CRF building.
Russ Hanscom used his Kubota tractor to great advantage for a multitude of tasks, saving hundreds of man-hours. Here he dumps one of many loads of stone ballast on the southern track of the CRF building.
(l to r) Tim Bristow, Don Bayer and Les Clark prepare to drill a hole in the web of the track in order to mount a tie plate which will join the two ends of the rail.
(l to r) Ed Lowrance, Les Clark, Don Bayer, John Sutkus, Tim Bristow and Marty Gonzales carry a track section to its proper place.
View of the west side of the Antonito CRF. The track and ties are in place, ready for final alignment, levelling, and ballast. Two recently acquired storage box cars are visible on the north side of the CRF building.
Marty Gonzales drills one of nearly 200 holes in the foundation of the CRF building. With a piece of rebar pounded into the holes they are a secure anchor for the rebar net that will be installed.
Ted Smith pounds a piece of rebar into the anchor hole on the foundation of the CRF building. The nearly 200 anchors will attach the rebar net that will soon be installed.
(l to r) Ray Diffee stands ready with the next piece of rebar to bend as Marshall Smith bends the piece that Les Clark is steadying. Nearly 4000 feet of rebar was used in the middle and southern concrete sections of the CRF.
Russ Hanscom (background) brings another piece of rebar to position as Marty Gonzales straigntens and ties the end of one of the bent sections of rebar. Nearly 150 bends were made on the rebar.
