In Antonito, the afternoon cloud build up is normal for this area, as is thunder over the mountains. But it's far enough away to still be safe for Chase Kepner to apply the preservative coating on the new decking on flat car 6544. The car is spotted on the west side of the CRF in Antonito.

Not all the jobs are high profile, but they still need to be done. Hutch Hutchison separates the various nuts and bolts and organizes them on the carousel in the background. The incredible amount of fasteners and small parts requires the use of various containers and holders, and they all have to be labeled as to their contents.

The paint crew was running out of the brown exterior paint so they decided to try their hand at some "railroad camouflage." This gondola is a sample of their efforts.
